Secret Islay 13 Years Old 2008 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

This Secret Islay 13 year old was distilled in 2008 and aged in a bourbon hogshead before bottling in 2022 with the cask yielding 364 bottles at 53.6% abv.   Another Secret Islay distillery adorning this label that we are very excited to see as an independently bottled single cask.  Located on the South Coast of Islay and founded in 1815 this famous Islay distillery has long been a favorite of single malt drinkers right around the world.   Very aromatic nose with subtle citrus and star anise.  Powerful palate with lots of smoke, heather and deep polished wood.  The finish is long with lots of fine minerality, salt and a note of singed citrus peel. 

Sansibar Whisky is a German independent bottler founded by Jens Drewitz, who carefully selects and bottles some of the finest casks of whisky and rum. He initially did so with the purpose of supplying his restaurant Sansibar, but Sansibar Whisky is now held in high esteem all over the world.
