Penderyn 17 Year Old, Ex-Australian Red Wine Cask #AW1, 50% abv 700ml

Since 2004 Penderyn distillery has been reinjecting whisky into the Welsh valleys and more recently been putting single malt Welsh whisky in front of consumers right around the world.    This very special single cask exclusive for the Australian market is momentous as it is the first and very fittingly aged in an ex-Australian red wine cask from Buller Wines in Rutherglen Valley, Victoria.    Expect plenty of berries on the nose – cherries, raspberry jam and a little bit of spice.  The palate presents the fruit with noble spices hovering to a deep medium length finish and roasted nuts and pecan pie.
