Kingsbarns Doocot Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml 46% ABV

This whisky has been aged in a combination of ex bourbon casks and shaved, toasted and re-charred Portuguese wine casks.

The inspiration for the name is from the area of the farm, the ‘Docoot’, the Scottish meaning for Dovecot, the area of the farm that once acted as a home for doves and pigeons and is now used to mature casks.

Nose: Sweet and floral. Brown sugar, banana cake, tropical notes.

Palate: Pineapple, summer berries, rhubarb

Finish: kiwi and citrus zest

Kingsbarns Distillery

Kingsbarns is a new Lowlands based distillery who have been distilling whisky since 2014.
They produce their spirit by the coast in a converted farmstead built close to 1800. They focus on using local barley known as ‘Laurete’ and produce a spirit they describe as ‘fruity and light’.

Kingsbarns ferment for 75-120 hours, and sometimes longer, in their 4 stainless steel washbacks. Their wash is around 8% ABV, and they produce a clear wort to aid in the production of esters, leading to their fruity style.
