The Distillery

Diamond Distillery, now part of Demerara Distillers Limited, is located on the Demerara River in Guyana and serves as the last rum distillery in a country once full of plantations and distilleries. Like many Caribbean rum giants, Diamond Distillery can trace its roots back more than 300 years.

They currently produce a unique and old-school style of demerara based rum, using traditional wooden stills, both pot and Coffey in design. These stills are the Port Mourant double pot still, the Versailles single pot still and the Enmore Coffey still all made of wood. They use these stills to produce a variety of different styles, however their most famous style and label is El Dorado.
