The Disitllery

Bowmore Distillery is located on the Scottish island of Islay, on the shores of Loch Indaal. It was founded in 1779, making it one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, by local merchant David Simson. The distillery's location on the rugged and windswept island of Islay provides it with a unique terroir, which helps to give its whiskies their distinctive character.

Over the years, Bowmore Distillery has undergone several changes in ownership and has been expanded and modernized to increase production capacity. In 1963, the distillery was acquired by Stanley P.
