Although aged in a sherry hogshead this Ben Nevis sings far more of the distilleries DNA than that of the cask.   Aged for 9 years and at bottled at 53.6% abv the dram initially invites a nose of hay and freshly cut grass before opening up to sweet candied pineapple and melon.  The palate is richer with a great malty body amalgamating into a coffee like finish with star anise lingering.
