Belize 14 Year Old 2006, Single Cask #TVL06MBT12, TCRL series, 65.5% abv 700ml

Another absolute winner from LMDW’s Transcontinental Rum Line Series this unique rum from Belize spent 9 years in the tropical climate of Central America, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to pursue its aging 5 more years in Europe.   Distilled in 2006 from fermented molasses and matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, this single cask is bottled at cask strength of 65.5%, demonstrating its full potential.    Plenty of bright fruits on the nose with mango and strawberry presenting, palate is bold and spicy with cocoa and roasted almond notes, long savoury finish with ginger and nutmeg lingering.
