Barbadillo Brandy de Jerez - Solera Grand Reserva Casa de Vinos Selection 500ml

The Barbadillio Grand Reserve brandy is a true masterpiece, carefully crafted from a remarkable solera system that includes brandy aged for over 50 years, and even older. Exclusively bottled for us, the master blender meticulously selected 21 casks to achieve our desired flavour profile, resulting in a limited edition release of only 180 bottles. Our aim was to create a Brandy de Jerez that would captivate traditional brandy enthusiasts while also enticing lovers of whisky and rum with its vibrant fruitiness, depth, and complexity. The outcome surpassed our wildest dreams— a truly exceptional brandy fit for any occasion, the ultimate nightcap to savour.

Nose: Rich notes of vanilla pod, exotic woods, coffee ice cream, toffee, roasted nuts, and freshly baked pastries.

Palate: Full-bodied with toasted notes of exotic woods, nuts, freshly baked sourdough bread, and Christmas cake.

Finish: Long and decadent, with lingering fruits transitioning to dry notes of almonds and pine from the cask.

The History

Barbadillo's rich history dates all the way back to 1821, when they first embarked on the journey of crafting exceptional Manzanilla wine. Since then, they have become renowned for producing some of the finest wines and brandies in the world. Today, Bodegas Barbadillo is proudly operated by the seventh-generation descendants of the founder, solidifying its position as one of Spain's oldest privately-owned producers.
 

With a total of 500 hectares of vineyards across two picturesque farms, namely Santa Lucía and Gibalbín, Barbadillo holds a prominent presence in the esteemed Jerez Superior viticultural zone. Within these beautiful estates, they carefully cultivate their grapes, ensuring the highest quality for their wines. The maturation process takes place in an impressive collection of around 31,800 casks, housed in seventeen distinct bodegas. Most notably, these bodegas are located in the esteemed Barrio Alto district of Sanlúcar, widely regarded as the most prestigious area for aging wines.
 

Through their unwavering dedication to tradition and craftsmanship, Barbadillo continues to enchant wine enthusiasts with their exceptional offerings, a testament to their illustrious legacy and unwavering commitment to producing world-class wines and brandy.  When the opportunity arose for us to select our very own Barbadillio Grand Reserve Brandy we did not hesitate.  We also thought it would be remiss of us not to add a few extra treats on the boat as well, so we are proud to present a new range of brandy and wine from one of Spain's premier producers here in Australia for the first time.
